to that of bunny rabbits. (hold on with me I have a legit point here... somewhere)
First of all, can we agree that:
Rabbits are on a lower rung of the food chain. Preditors -
coyotes etc- prey on them for food. (and nifty little
keychains.. sorry hazel & lebowski)
Rabbits have a high breeding capacity to sustain the preditors food supply.
The Alien has a 2 stage breeding cycle, the eggs (a big giant mess o' them) and the face hugger (more rare).
Could it be that Aliens have a "natural" preditor that preys on the Alien young? And after it's gorged it's fill, the preditor then becomes the host for the face hugger.
and let's not forget that it takes a Queen alien to give birth to the eggi-weggies. Queen Aliens are also rare (considering she has to grow up from a highly endangered egg, to a face hugger and then stay alive long enough to give birth).
THEREFORE
isn't it concievable that the Alien is on a lower run of
the food chain in it's own environment?
makes you wonder what a bad ass mo-fo the Alien predator really is. (and why this wasn't the subject of alien 4!)
M.E.B.
(have fuzzy logic, will travel)
