11/23/1998: Historical Question for Richard...

Posted By: Tralala

RBB--

am doing a report on the life of Eva Braun for my Holocaust class; so far have found very little besides passing mentions in Hitler biographies and the Encyclopedia of the Third Reich etc. So far it's shaping up to be a complete rehash of the seminal Nerin E. Gun biography.

My question to you as historian-type, are there any comprehensive WW2 web sites, or sites on the Third Reich that AREN'T just neo-Nazi propaganda? Perhaps sites maintained by universities? Yahoo was unsurprisingly unhelpful.

Also, re the Nerin E. Gun bio mentioned above...what's his credibility level? Since most of the bio is based on personal interviews he conducted with her family and friends, there is very little citation, and since so much phony info about her has been published (fake diaries, etc.), I am naturally concerned about the validity of his research. I could find no other author credits for him, but I've seen you quote or mention many obscure historians so perhaps you know...

Please, please, PLEASE don't mistake my legitimate questions for the backhanded anti-Semitic tripe posted below.

Thanks in advance,

Tralala (tired of the dirty looks from college librarians)
