While I don't agree wholeheartedly with x-whatever you have to admit that there is no other event in the history of the world besides maybe the civil war (which killed 10 times the amount of people) that is shown and talked about in movies.
How about the 5 million Catholics that were killed by Stalin in Russia? How about all the millions killed or maimed in Apartheid South Africa. Every year there are at least 3 to 4 movies on The Holocaust and all of them end up at least nominated for an Oscar. Makes you wonder.
