(Is it just me, or has this place REALLY dumbed-down recently?)

1. Why shouldn't Energy industry officials be helping draft an energy policy? The Dumbya Admin. invited numerous environmental groups to help, but all of them turned down the request. I'd rather have Energy Industry people writing energy policies than any liberal/conservative who hasn't a clue about the E.I.
2. Screw Detroit automakers. Don't bitch at them - let their stupid, wasteful policies put them out of business. I'm not buying American anytime soon.
Good luck getting a rise out of anyone on this. Similar to the mid-90s, when Clinton was selling his administration to the Chinese for satellite technology, few people really care about important issues anymore, esp. with idiotic MajorLeague baseball in season, the NHL and NBA playoffs, and the Israel/Palestine situation. Add to all that a somewhat-recovering stock market and you have near-total apathy on important issues like this.
