However, I will bet large gobs of money that Pacino and DeNiro were at that table together for the initial filming of that scene. There may have been a re-shoot during post-production requiring one of the actors and a stand-in (there IS a continuity blooper....involving Pacino's hair and DeNiro's collar...)
Notorious: At no time in Godfather II do Pacino and DeNiro share the screen. Think about it, Pacino is playing Michael Corleone in the present time and DeNiro is playing his father (young Vito Corleone) in flashback mode.
