when a flick is called "The Limey," Mr. Cranky finds it almost tolerable -- even a flick with (quick, Watson, the basin!) Peter Fondue in the cast. As I understand it -- and this is as close as I'm ever going to get to this poor ugly stupid waste of celluloid -- the title character is a Nenglishman. Do we detect a smidgeon of Britishism here? A tiny tad of lime-squeezer smugness? A soupcon of queen-lapping sanctimony? Well of course we do, and who's suprised? "Oi! 'Oo took me bleedin' empire when oi wadn' lookin'? Gi'e it back ter me, sod ye!"
