It was okay
Honestly I was just a tad disappointed. It was decent, but too long. They could have lopped 30 minutes off the runtime nicely. Also, some of the special effects were cool, but on the whole even the robot fight scenes were only "good" and not "great".
Megan Fox was hot, though.
Shia Lebouf (kinda sounds gay just typing it) is also turning into one of the most likable stars in Hwood. I thought the movie was actually at it's best in the early lighthearted portions with Shia trying to woo Megan Fox which drew laughs.
What was that bizzare preview for a movie opening on 1/8/08 though? The one that they didn't show the title in the latest bizzare guerrilla marketing thing. That looks kinda cool.
There were US military ads before the movie, and I can see why, the whole movie played like an advertisement for the US military (so, of course, the America hating yuppie liberals that dominate LSB will hate the movie), as well as GMC autos and of course, all manner of transformers toys. Product placement itself doesn't bother me, but it was even a little heavy handed for me.
So overall, decent, not great.
