I was actually worried that the accents would be those phony, overdone caricatures of Texas and Mexican accents...especially since John Sayles from New Jersey or somewhere like that. But when I saw Lone Star in Illinois, I was relieved to hear the characters speaking the way real people did when I was growing up in West Texas.
That people from other places had trouble understanding the dialogue is simply more evidence of its authenticity.
