I agree that the use of flashbacks do point out that history is an important theme of the movie. I didn't think that there was that much PC sermon-izing. It seemed that the "bad" white people were being ousted by the Mexican-American crowd in this movie. How does that fit in with your "history doesn't matter" article? If history doesn't matter, then we repeat it. In this movie the characters all seemed to learn from history and do something about it. I don't get your argument.
