Taboo or not, I was also left with the feeling that Sam and Pilar were just going to continue on with their affair. The ending was deliberately ambiguous, though, so I guess we're all correct.
On the other hand, we could all just divide up, scream epithets and hurl cream pies at each other. Oh heck, why don't we just do that anyway?
