I guess the list is a list of "good people" that would make "good Others" or whatever...
"Him" or Jacob (probably the same person) seem to the creator of this "list."
Bakunin (also a famous Russian revolutionary) was too duplicitous anyway (yeah, the "this thing's broken" excuse was really going to stop Sayid and Rousseau? Not.) Cool sonic weapon/defense perimeter though.
