A Cuban zoo animal Tony Montainlion (Al Pacino) is deported to Madgascar. After surviving a botched deal that decapitats his friend Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer) , Tony makes in big in the local drug pushing, gaining the attention of Drug Kingpin Julian the Lemur (Sacha Baron Cohen). However, Tony senses weakeness in the Julian and he craves the lemur's mistress, Gloria the Hippo (Jada Pinkett Smith). Soon, Tony offs Julian, takes over the business and makes his best friend Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock) second-in-command, until he finds Marty sleeping with his sister. His downfall comes when he pisses off South American drug lord Mason the Chimpanzee.
