This whole movie is one where we could of, might of, or don't care about.
We have John Travolta playing a character that looks like a thirty-something Vinny Boborino and Dustin Hoffman playing a news reporter that Dan Rather can beat the crap out of if it came to that. A dissatisfied employee and a fallen news anchor for plot. Why don't they just throw in disgruntled postal workers for the love of God?
Since this film is already damned by the country and Mr. Cranky and heading straight to video, we are spared another "Travolta" movie for awhile.
I think if Mr. Cranky were to write this film with the prior knowledge of Travolta's involvement, then, I think he would have the character killed in the first fifteen minutes by Mr. Kotter and spend the next five watching Dustin Hoffman drive off into a volcano while Alan Alda begs the entire world for forgiveness for making the film "Murder at 1600". Then for a show stopper, dancing chimps! "Mad City" indeed.
Sounds like an Oscar contender to me.
