"Ghost in the Shell" was the first anime I watched (thank God I finally got to see one), but I had to watch it on video, because it's a small town and there are no anime theaters. Anyway, I know what you were talking about, because Major Kusanagi and that thermoptic camouflage became one half of my favorite fight scene in movie history (against the other guy, who was also using one).
I owe it to you and Vegeta for turning me on to anime...I'm going to rent Akira tonight.
