01/23/00: Is Claudia Really an Incest Victim?

Posted By: wertyCA

I know this sounds like a strange question, but the movie harped on this issue to such a degree that I was expecting "the big secret" to be something other than the obvious.

This would go along with her father not remembering anything about it (but he was such a drunkard that he might not be able to remember anything). Her father is also painted as a pretty sympathetic character, so it's reasonable to question his guilt.

It would also explain Claudia's extreme self-disgust and destructive lifestyle if she is living, not with the memory of being raped by her father, but with the memory of falsely accusing her father of rape.

Comments and evidence for or against this theory are welcome!
