I think the director needed to show more restraint with the music and editing. I felt like these characters were forced on me. The director seemed to want them to be down to earth and larger than life at the same time. You don't start a movie with a bang and then tell us to slow down for three hours. That and it's hard to have a plot about celebrities that doesn't sound like that is the big issue.
This director reminds me of the Eagles. I find it hard to separate the artist from the subject.
