Okay, I'm sick of people complaining about how movie directors only play to the pockets of movie goers. I'd like to think, in this day and age that people have other motives than just further their bank account. And if there is one person who has given me hope in this dream, it is PT Anderson. I watch his movies, and I see that they have a point, a clear message (well to me at least, I realize that there are some neadrathals that still don't get it), and remain to be some of the best films that exist today. Magnolia is perhaps one of the best films ever made, and definately the best of '99. So to those of you who claim that Mr. Anderson is just playing on "Gen X"er's fears and insecurities to make a little cash, wake up. PT Anderson is a filmmaker in the truest sense of the word, in that he makes films that have depth, as opposed to the traditional "bang, bang, kill, kill" formula that is filling our TV screens. So to those of you who see Magnolia for what it truly is, congratulations! And for those of you who don't, it's a shame your mind is so clouded, that you really feel everyone in Hollywood is that shallow.
