Movies aren't really works of art. They're simply whatever puts butts into seats. These days that mostly means advertising hype, because it's easier to deliver that consistantly than it is to figure out what people want to see (irrespective of artistic merits) and give it to them. You guys might as well be rating professional wrestling plotlines.
