. . . Crazy, insane, clever, and funny are NOT mutually exclusive. It just depends upon what the crazy person is crazy about.
For instance, if crazy person believes that children under five are aliens trying to control him, who must have their heads cut off, we don't find him funny. If, however, he believes that Fergie is the Queen of the World and should be bowed to in public . . . why, we find him terribly risible.
And BTW, Hairhead is not insane. His motives just aren't other people's motives. He's cynical and bored and distanced and filled with ennui, so he makes trouble, and watches what people do about it, trying to find some amusement, stimulation and challenge in life. Yes, you'd find him amoral at times, brilliant always, obtuse in some areas (that's his weakness, normal relationships between human beings), and perceptive in others. He specializes in non-confrontation and trickiness, and doesn't believe in any rules at all. He's the joker in the pack, and if he has an agenda or belief system, it hasn't been revealed yet.
Oooh, yes, and Wulfgar hates him MOST sincerely!
