...And, yes, I am a HUGE Mary Stuart Masterson fan, and I've seen almost all her films, even the stupid ones. I love "Some Kind of Wonderful." My guilty pleasure is 80's teen movies.
I'm still having fun trying to think of what to do for a final project in there. I really want to go with "Madonna and the Fluid Conception of Identity" but there's other members of my group who want to examine action movies and central american politics (i.e. Predator). Still interesting, but they're taking all the fun out of it.
There's just something so strangely appealing about topics like "Metaphysics, Ontology, and the Lyrics of Motley Crue" or "Deconstructing Class Ideology in the Films of Molly Ringwald."
This is so much fun!
I keep thinking of new ideas; I can't settle on just one...
It's good to know I'm learning such a marketable skill (rolls eyes). But at least I'm having fun. Plus, believe it or not, you DO learn a lot from classes like this. It just doesn't seem like it on the surface. I'll let you know what I decide to do my research on.
Now I've gotta go read some article on Reagan, Fantasy, and Reality (and something about the "Spielberg-Lucas Syndrome"). Fascinating stuff.
TCP :)
