02/01/02: narrated to death

Posted By: nooney

After seeing this movie, every action I did, was narrated by Billy Bob Thorton. When leaving the movie theater, getting into a cab, entering my apartment, going to the bathroom and turning the tv on, I heard Billy Bob Thorton gentle voice narrate.

I was so excited to see this movie when it first came out. It look intriguing, complex and well done. The beautiful black and white pictures drew me to the movie theater. The constant narration by Bily Bob Thorton drove me away. I wanted so desperately to like this movie, but Thorton's voice drove me crazy. It seemed like the plot was not strong enough to survive without his narration. I liked the supporting characters, but we rarely heard them speak over the narration of the main character.

The Cohen Brothers do make good movies, but besides looking pretty, this was a big huge disappointment.
