Only, he made it much sicker. It involved a couple who was divorcing and their little girl. The mother was hosting a Halloween party for the neighborhood children. The father apparently (it was never spelled out) waited until the lights were turned out and then killed the little girl, having the other children pass around her body parts in the dark. The mother begins to realize that something is wrong, and calls the little girl's name. When there is no answer, she starts screaming something like "oh my god, don't touch the lightswitch!" because she realized, in horror, what had happened.
The last line of the story is: "Then some idiot turned on the lights."
I love Ray Bradbury.
