11/20/03: Wait a second...

All you state is that Moore made false claims in "Bowling for Columbine." That's fine. I've seen that criticism. I will not attempt to refute or confirm if this is correct b/c, franky, I do not know the truth. My point is that, as far as I can tell, he has avoided making any claims beyond reporting true facts in his new book & upcoming documentary. I haven't heard anyone disputing what he has reported about 9/11. It's fine to criticize Moore for "Bowling," but this is an entirely separate issue.

Second, I dispute your claim that Moore was unknown before "Bowling." Before that he had released 2 documentaries (the first of which -- "Roger & Me" -- was the top grossing doc ever when it was released), he had 2 tv shows ("The Awful Truth" & "TV Nation"), and he had 2 best selling books. Now, "Bowling" shot him to a new level of celebrity, but my general point here is that Moore was known before "Bowling" & that film did nothing to dilute his audience. The proof? His new book debuted at #2 on the NYT bestseller list & it has remained in the top 5 in successive weeks. Like it or not, Moore has a huge following.
