11/20/03: I think the Pixar movies suffer from "sequel syndrome"

Posted By: Aron

In reality, only "Toy Story 2" was a sequel, but for some reason, it feels like ALL of the Pixar movies since "Toy Story 1" were sequels (I suppose it doesn't hurt that they look similar, have similar themes and one of the same writers). So it's sort of double-Academy punishment, because you know how they feel about sequels (although, interestingly, the one animated movie that got a BP nomination, "Beauty and the Beast," was even worse than a sequel: it was a REMAKE, in fact, a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake of a remake...)

"The Incredibles," on the other hand, will be something completely different (Andrew Stanton has nothing to do with it). But it'll still be animated!
