02/19/02: Puppies do come home from Heaven after all.

Posted By: llulaby

The only person I ever devotedly loved and shared all the growing up years with from childhood lost a puppy once - even though there are so many of the world that would be there to say that puppies come back home over the hill from heaven, no-one was there to meet her.She wondered about his poor little tummy upside-down for days especially and cried belatedly that nothing was right or good when the goodness ran out of a warm furry puppy-love that should of been held and nutured. The fact that she and I have never argued or complained in all these years and that I hold a mercer candle light for her since the first day she kissed me shows that at least childhhod can grow up, but where do puppies go when everyone has left the room.Heaven knows mister, there are plenty of people to look at the beautiful and sob over memories that are not their life experience - and partly that is where movie plays do come in - but puppies that are lost and puppies that come from heaven are still somebody's puppies. The beat on the beat-up about how much goodness could possibly be derived from a film about movie studios doesn't leave much for the imagination of childhood or of those whom have loved their puppy to come home again, with or without tears in their eyes.I have only kissed and held one person to myself and my body in my entire lifetime.A wonderful play is a good stage production - and life is more than living on stage.Where does that leave the lives that are watching one in the name of finding less than the life that was given ? Mara Wilson & Danny DeVito made a film together for very special reasons that more than broken hearted girls growing up tend to understand.Puppies do come home for Christmas.Broken toys do heal.Girls and boys everywhere growing up on this Earth do find the name they need for things that they love that will encourage or heal the mending heart and the name may as well be 'puppy'. With all the comment in the world you won't find these actors on the movie screen.Perhaps you rememebr Glen Miller and the Trumpet that some said didn't exist.Perhaps you remember Mr. Neil Diamond's family and the prayer of gentleness that keeps overwhelming rock and pop with something more gentle and said of their own voice.Perhaps you see one looking for you - perhaps you didn't go to the movies to see Bogata with a dollar in your hand. Children's classics are often borne out of the most misunderstood and tearful events Heaven knows. It does not take a director's cut or a lassoo.Heaven knows more than tears could heal and find the funny side but where would the rest of us be in the aisles.Popcorn was served and someone smiled - that would give a day worth remembering.A day to last a lifetime would gather your hopes and dreams together quietly past the nightmare of anything at all.Not everyone knows how to do this, but that's alright - there are people who write books for just this very reason - in the many languages of sounding any way at all - and they have a sneaking muppet love way of finding their way into movies too, just like your dreams and prayers that they also write about. You could say - it kinda writes itself along the bay of sand where someone has already passed along with their life. If you would like to see a children's classic - whether it be the movie or the play or the storybook, one thing is for sure...puppies still come from Heaven Mr. Knowles, and the director's cut made no difference at all to the dream of a child. There is no end to the finish of a nightmare and to sail away from the bad dreams and upset of life involves all things of "Matilda" , something like a kite and a possum up a old tree wondering how on Earth to be home again. Many people have said Kitty can get down the tree and find her own way home, but personally I've seen too many small children cry alone and lost at shopping centres and supermarkets.Films for the movie audience such as "Matilda" are not a breathing space. The confrontation was always there, and so was the parent.Doesn't that bring something to bear out of infancy about who's child is this when we're good or bad anyway?Swapping the name or the image of the story children are telling doesn't make any difference to the children who know what they want to say themselves. It might as well be a silent film.
