It's a bit late to be posting this but I personally liked the Matrix. Bullet time was a really innovative idea and the martial arts scenes were pretty cool (I'm a martial artist with a mixed background in american kenpo, atemi-ryu ju-jitsu and chendokan aikido). Some elements of drunken boxing here and there really pulled the action scenes together.

Also, Mr. Cranky has really no idea about what he was talking about. when he said: "there's also a ton of John Woo gun fights and Jackie Chan martial arts-type stuff, except that Reeves looks so stiff in the fight scenes you wonder if his next gig might be Tomb Raider IV, or maybe Vice-President of the United States." There are many martial arts styles out there. Not all of them are as fluid as Kung-Fu and Tai-Chi. Also, everyone fights differently. I personall like to move my feet back and forth to confuse my opponent. It's a mixture of technique and improvisation. Maybe, Mr. Cranky should go through the rigorous training that Reeves went through. Then he can talk shit, but until then he needs to take his tongue out of his ass.

I'd like to add another bit...This is for "The_Duke" Where the hell do you get off talking shit about the states!! I am an american of Cuban descent and am very proud of my heritage. Had it not been for my country I would have been born into poverty and oppression. I thank God that I was born in the U.S. because because my parents were able to escape from Cuba. Why don't you take a trip to Cuba or South\Central America away from the tourist attractions and see what it's like. Then maybe you'll understand why I love my country.

"Martial arts always looks fucked when it's Americans...". Yet another comment that pissed me off. #1 Even if you're a martial artist (which I doubt, you seem like too much of a pussy to handle it) you should never disrespect the son of Master Bruce Lee. His father united all of the martial arts. His son was passing the style on. An extremely difficult task, mind you. Brandon Lee should be respected, plain and fucking simple.

#2 "Gun fights are good though. I guess it's the 11,000 deaths a year by hand guns that shows they're well practiced in this department." What a pussy comment. Hand guns are useful when one's life is being threatened. It's assholes who misuse them who make up a good 90% of the statistics. Some people need them because maybe they aren't strong enough to defend themselves or are disabled. I don't own one. I use my body as a weapon.

#3 People who watch Sci-Fi aren't nerds. Everyone has different hobbies. You must still be 12 years old.

By the way, I only got political because you did. And not a good 99.9% of americans don't say y'all or howdy. You need something called culture. Get off of your ass, "mate" and (Crikey!) here's an idea, pick up a fucking book!!
