Since you're here and you've suggested reading material to me in the past, I thought I'd reciprocate...
I just finished reading "House of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielewski and I think it would be your kind of thing. It's probably at this point one of my favorite books and for all its "post-modern conventions that drive some people nuts" (for which I'm glad it caused those kinds of people pain), its very accessible and entertaining. I can't really give a summary, but just check it out on Amazon and see if you think it's your cup of tea. After talking to Slothrop about it CONSTANTLY, he's probably going to read it, so that says something about the possibility of you liking it as well...
