1) Were you a bully, nerdboy, loser, or invisible other in high school?
I was kind of just a drifter between cliques. Sometimes having to fight (and man when I was a freshman I really shouldn't have stood up to that big Senior boy), sometimes just doing own thing, cutting classes (and still made it out and got into UCLA, nyah, nyah), and getting really irritated with my parents for staying in Germany for 7 years! The least they could've done was send me to a German school for some interesting cultural exchange and learning, but noooo...
2) Do you think that kids can be so mean as to justify going Columbine? Any sympathy for the picked on nerds that strike back?
Nothing justifies murder unless it's you or some psycho. I have sympathy for people that suffer sure. My perspective is that of an adult though so I imagine kids are still how they were when I was that age.
3) Did you love going to high school and the whole popularity contests, school spirit, having your voice crack, growing hair in strange places, and popping zits? Or did you cut classes and are just happy to have made it out of that hell hole alive and with some shred of sanity?
I had some good times, but I was always kind of the rational dude that did his own thing. I'm not a team player (played a some b-ball and football as a freshman though) and I hate taking orders or following. I didn't give a rat's ass about popularity and our school was small enough that most of us knew each other. I still know a few folks from high school, but they live in New Jersey and Oregon and Connecticutt so...
4) So do you now understand why you had to learn Algerbra, history, and industrial arts? Aren't you using it everyday?
I sometimes use them sure. Industrial arts is like wood shop where you make things and maybe discover that you should work with your hands and become a grease monkey.
5) Name the best things about going to high school (significant events like losing your virginity etc.).
Best things were sometimes learning and getting chicks. What else is there?
6) Any teachers/administators that you would have loved to see keel over and die?
Only a few. The counselors are so stupid. I was told that I needed to up my attendance so that it would not reflect poorly when I applied to college. Yeah that was so not true. The beauty of schooling in America is that you always get a second chance. You fuck up one place, then you can try somewhere else. A lot of counselors are the by the book types that think that order in the universe is a given and don't believe in chaos like yours truly.
7) Ever have a crush on a teacher and/or an affair that you now feel safe in revealing?
Oh yeah. The gym teacher. I played the teacher's pet and helped her clean-up and showed up early to talk to her. She knew I liked her and she didn't mind. I only wish she'd let me fuck her though. I mean what's so important about having a job and maybe getting arrested for statutory rape anyway? As long as I have fun... Heeheeheeehaaaaaa
8) Did you feel the need to act like a moron or did you take pride in being the first nerd to raise your hand to answer the tough questions?
I only did the hand raising thing mostly in history classes. Sometimes in english classes too. Occassionally in science classes, but never in math. I barely made it past Trig.
9) Do anything that you regret in high school (like beat the crap out of kids or moon the janitor)?
I have plenty of regrets. I should have done more travelling in Europe and I should have made the most of my situation rather than venting about it all the time. Hind sight is 20-20 though. If I could go back in time I'd beat the crap out of me and tell me to just try to have fun inspite of my inept parents.
10) Have you gone to any reunions or do you plan to or are you just going to forget that high school ever happened until you can track down the people you hated and gut them like fish?
Reunion? Can't have a reunion when the class is scattered all over the states and the world. I went to a DOD school in Germany and all of my classmates are all over da place now.
