1) Were you a bully, nerdboy, loser, or invisible other in high school?
Pretty much invisible I thought, although for a reason that I've never quite understood, the school bully always wanted to be my friend (which I was happy enough to play along with, for obvious reasons). He had a pretty good professional boxing career ahead of him too, but several trips to jail put an end to that.
2) Do you think that kids can be so mean as to justify going Columbine? Any sympathy for the picked on nerds that strike back?
Not a lot. Nerds gotta work it out.
3) Did you love going to high school and the whole popularity contests, school spirit, having your voice crack, growing hair in strange places, and popping zits? Or did you cut classes and are just happy to have made it out of that hell hole alive and with some shred of sanity?
I think I realised pretty early on that high school could be very useful if you wanted to take advantage of it. Think of it as a practice ground for later life. So I did.
As for school spirit, you must be joking. My school was surrounded by a cyclone mesh fence with barbed wire on top.
4) So do you now understand why you had to learn Algerbra, history, and industrial arts? Aren't you using it everyday?
I still use a lot of things that I learned, although it's been a while since I've solved any differential equations.
5) Name the best things about going to high school (significant events like losing your virginity etc.).
Getting out of the house. Blowing up a beaker of iodine in Chemistry class. Repainting all the lines in the teacher's carpark one foot closer to each other...oh, that was Bart's childhood.
6) Any teachers/administators that you would have loved to see keel over and die?
Ha! One of them did. Not at school though. Damn. Chemistry teacher was a wanker; although maybe that was because of the iodine thing....
7) Ever have a crush on a teacher and/or an affair that you now feel safe in revealing?
I had a big crush on my (female) English Literature teacher. Not because she was particularly attractive, but because she was so damn smart.
8) Did you feel the need to act like a moron or did you take pride in being the first nerd to raise your hand to answer the tough questions?
I was happy enough just to listen and hope that the invisible suit was working.....
9) Do anything that you regret in high school (like beat the crap out of kids or moon the janitor)?
Well, there's always that girl that you wish you'd slept with...
10) Have you gone to any reunions or do you plan to or are you just going to forget that high school ever happened until you can track down the people you hated and gut them like fish?
No reunions. I'm sufficiently removed from where I went to school now that it's unlikely I'd hear about them anyway. They'd have to hold it at the prison anyway to guarantee a decent turnout.
