04/05/98: Disney ruined cartoons

Posted By: xyz

I saw something on TV a long, long time ago about how Disney ruined cartoons. Unce upon a time, cartoons appealed to all age groups, including adults. Then stupid, evil Disney came along and made movie after movie aimed at kids. After awhile, the good and pure cartoon developors couldn't compete with Disneys facist ways. Eventually Disney started to dominate the market and killed all its competitors.

The End(no happy ending)

Seriously though, look at what Disney did. Now cartoons are almost always aimed at kids and the ones that aren't just don't do that well. Look at Batman:Mask of the Phantasm. One of the best action movies there is and noone went to see it because it was a cartoon(or atleast I'm assuming so since WB didn't try to make any other cartoon movies). If the old hand drawn format was still popular, budget wouldn't limit the writers imagination. There could be as many charactors as needed(makes a much bigger difference in TV shows like the Simpsons. The Simpsons barely even takes advantage of its format, yet it could never be done in live action), things could happen that would cost literally billions of dollars, and the action scenes would be a hell of alot better(again, not limited by time, money, technology, or earthly constraints)
