DBiaFFJ is right, you really have to see the movie to appreciate it, 'cause it's kind of hard to summarize the plot. The whole "look" of the movie is awesome, very differant from most things you see. The character design of Zig Zag is my favorite; when he walks, his curled shoes unfurl and "zig-zag" in front of him. There is also some serious background design: very M. C. Escher-esque. If you like animation, you should see it if you have the chance.
Also, I agree with Brain that there are a good number of animated tv shows that are pretty good, mostly on cable stations like the Cartoon Network.
