A couple of months ago, when I heard that PEN and Amazon.com were sponsoring a short-story contest, I feverishly began to work on a story to enter the contest. Unfortunately, I didn't win, but now I'm free to post that story anywhere on the net.
There's only one place in the world I wanted to present my story first--Crankyland.
