Ignorant? Hardly. I just know where to go and who to talk to.
The computer I have now has been going strong for three years, with only two minor upgrades. Since it belongs to my parents, I didn't really worry about upgrading...when I move out, I'll buy a new system from the same company that we bought the last one.
In MY experience, big companies are terrible in customer support. ANY big company is that way. But when I had my only problem with my PC (failed power supply), the techs were very helpful. When I went in to upgrade the memory, they were pleasant and quick with it. Took a grand total of five minutes. When my modem had an IRQ conflict, I called up and got excellent help in fixing it.
The secret is to find a GOOD custom-builder that's relatively cheap. We found one.
You're a complete moron if you think I'm ignorant.
