Smitten, dear one, if you have to ask that question, you just ain't an American! America stands for Freedom, with a capital "F!" We may not have the legal right to smoke pot, snort coke, kill ourselves, or cheat on our taxes, but we do it, just the same. We can have frank discussions, like the ones on this board, without fear that police are gonna break down our doors within minutes. Yeah, yeah, I know--Big Brother is watching in the good ol' US of A, and maybe that's true...but we Americans take our birthrights way too lightly. Let me ask you this, Smitten--how many other countries have boatpeople practically drowning themselves to reach their shores? The answer: no other country...except the USA. Face it, we're the best, and everyone outside of this country wishes they were an American, too. Thank God I wasn't born in the wilds of (ugh) Canada, or working my ass off in a cuntry like China or Russia. We should count our blessings!
