Ya know it annoys me when these 'scientist' characters like Sorvino and Laura Dern in Jurassic Park are immune to goo, gook and big piles of dinosaur shit in the pursuit of knowledge of their of study. When Mira plunges her hand into bug slop so she can rub it all over herself it doesn't seem to bother her, hey, shes a scientist,shes too smart to be grossed out.
The one good thing about this movie is that it was easy to make fun of. I should have left my entire body at the concession stand,along with my brain. I could have spent two hours studying Raisinets and thier impact on American culture, that would have been more fun.
The only character who had a normal "what the fuck is that!!" reaction to the bugs was Roc (Charles Dutton). The rest of 'em were like "oh look, its a monstrous flying bug and it wants to rip me apart,why,lets examine it shall we." Its a pretty sad state of affairs when your best actor is a convicted felon with a failed sitcom under his belt.
I didn't see Mighty Aphrodite, I hear Sorvino was good in that. In Mimic she stunk. I've seen more emotion exuded from a dying house plant. Too bad she looked cute at the Oscars. I don't mind dumb movies, as long as they're entertaining too like Escape from LA. Unfortunately Mimic was dumb and boring too. Idiots.
