In "Hercules," when Herc cuts off one of the Hydra's heads (from inside, no less!) you don't see any blood, but you do see all this clear goop and a lot of meat. And how about when the prince in "Sleeping Beauty" throws the Sword of Justice into the Maleficent-dragon's chest? It just goes to show that you can get away with a lot more in animation than you can in real life. Just look at The Simpsons, Animaniacs, Batman, the first Gargoyles episodes, and so on. Is this a reflecttion on the nature of animation and how it is perceived by the American public?
