I took my Japanese niece to see this movie and was totally prepared to not like it. Although you won't be able to read about these events in any history book, and in real life the other guys would have been able to tell that she was a girl almost immediately, I found it to be entertaining. I thought Mushu was funny, and grandma and the cricket were cute. Just a tad far-fetched, though.
This movie doesn't hold a candle to masterpieces like Fantasia, but it was a hell of a lot better than Hunchback of Notre Dame. Jeez, only Disney could give a happy ending to that story. Coming up next the Disney version of Les Miserable, where they actually beat the entire Franch army and everyone lives happily ever after. Yank Yank.
