Dude! That WAS Donnie Osmond providing the singing voice for Shang! As for his behavior, look at it this way; in his society, women were women, men were men, and the two came together at mealtimes and in bed; in war one sought the fellowship of other men(make of THAT what you will);women simply had no place or right to be there. Shang had welcomed Ping to the Brotherhood, and had been betrayed by the fact of "Ping's" sex! It's kind of akin to the feelings of outrage little boys and businessmen express when they are forced to admit girls & women to their private clubs.
