So, "Maverick" John McCain, King of Straight Talk, said that George W. Bush had been listening too much to Dick Cheney and Cheney's loopy ideas about prosecuting the war on Iraq. Then Cheney told Jonathan Karl of ABC that all was okay between the two: McCain had apologized for saying such a thing. Did he?
Did Mr. Straight Talk say one thing in public, then something totally the opposite in private? McCain's campaign has come down with a sudden case of the "no comment" lockjaw:

How very, very strange. Cheney could be right; McCain will soon apologize to Donald Rumsfeld for calling him one of the worst secretaries of defense ever. Dear me! Will the popular media, who just lurve them some Senator Straight Talk, have the nerve to ask Maverick John whether or not he's a craven little bitch for Dick Cheney? Cheney says he is.
