For one thing, Scorsese's a virtual lock for Best Director, and Best Director/Best Picture often go to the same film. Also, Babel doesn't really have much of a buzz around it (how many people actually think it's the best film of 2006?) and neither Departed nor Little Miss Sunshine has a big enough backlash for it to win (remember, one of the reasons Crash won last year was the backlash against Brokeback Mountain). As for Little Miss Sunshine, low budget indie flicks and comedies rarely win, so a combination of the two doesn't seem like a likely winner...
