and I never liked him as Bond. Too in on the joke, too self-deprecating. I suppose it's lame of me, but I like taking grown-up movies (even fantasy-based ones like Bond) seriously. At least for the two hours I spend watching them.
But I really liked "Casino Royale", and I think Craig is dead sexy. Don't like my fellas too purty, sexay voice and what a bod!
Oh, yeah, there were other reasons I liked it, I swear! The chase at the beginning, still like Judi Dench, the car flip, the poisoning. . .
Did not like the girl much. . . liked her edgy quality but not nearly hot enough. When she wears the purple gown to the card game, we're supposed to think she's so beautiful it's distracting. It's not. The girl who ends up dead was hotter. The villian was kind of not intimidating, although his racket was modern and interesting.
*Shrug*. Don't know about a beating, but after crap like "Tomorrow Never Dies" and "Die Another Day", I felt it was a vast improvment.
