...Moveon dot org, the supposed 527 juggernaut, has finally made it into the news again.
After wallowing in there own irrelevance for most of the presidential campaign, only gaining attention early for their commercial contest, the one with the Hitler commercial getting some attention... They're back.
I can't imagine how tired the Moveon folks must be of seeing and hearing about the SwiftBoatVetsforTruth getting all the publicity and above that, actually making a significant dent to Kerry's campaign.
Anyway, Moveon's new commercial shows an American soldier in a surrender pose. Which will annoy the sensibilities of all but the hard-core Bush haters. It's just a bad idea and it's not going to do them, or Kerry any good at all.
The Bush haters are already energized, there's no need to fuel that fire. You're not going to win over undecideds with that sort of image.
Not only that, Moveon might as well move all of their money over to other 527's. Because with the Hitler ad and now the soldier surrendering ad, even if they had a good ad, people aren't going to pay attention to them.
They're getting dangerously close to entering into the Truth dot com realm. Because I don't know about you, but nothing makes me want a cigarette more than watching one of those fuckin' commercials.
