"On Monday Sen. Ted Kennedy, designated pit bull for the Kerry campaign, said, ``Iraq is George Bush's Vietnam, and this country needs a new president.'' "

Hmmm... "Designated Pit Bull" sounds like a nice title. Designated by whom? Did he get a framed certificate? A satin sash with "Pit Bull" embroidered on it? Or is he merely speaking his mind, as he was elected to do?

I'm confused, Spanky. How does this make Mr. Kennedy a traitor. He called for the legal election of a new president. Isn't that how our government is supposed to work?

Is he a traitor because he compared the pointless deaths of American soldiers in Iraq to the pointless death of American soldiers in Viet Nam? Seems like an apt comparison to me.

Or is he a traitor because someone else, half a world away, whom he has never met, happened to use some of the same words as he did? How, exactly, is that his fault?

Apparently you're working with a different definition of the word "traitor" than I am.
