That wasn't Austin in "Dazed & Confused", it was Huntsville... the living inspiration for a main character from the movie still lives there and runs a college bookstore. The student paper interviewed him when the movie came out, and his comment for the record ran along the lines of, "Heh heh heh... don't forget to take your vitamins, kids...."
I think the Moon Tower is still up, too, but otherwise it's NOT still like in the movie. Well, okay, there was a pretty ugly tailgate party this year outside the unit where Karla Faye Tucker was zapped, but I don't think that counts.
