..X-MAN, I assume by "quite" you mean "quiet." And again, this is one of those arguments that are so stupid because no matter what I say, you won't believe me.
I am open about my sexuality on this board because of the ANONYMITY, moron. None of you people know me. Well, except for Deanna. I didn't even want to tell HER I was gay, and she's my sister. My stepmother convinced me, too. You can ask Deanna about this if you don't believe me. I don't know where's she's been lately, though - I haven't seen her post all week. My immediate family knows I'm gay. My close friends know I'm gay. That is about all I choose to tell. The only time I make an exception is if a guy keeps asking and asking and asking for me to go out with him OR if I meet someone else that is gay. It is these exceptions that often end up spreading the rumors. Still, most people don't know about me. I'm just a quiet person (believe it or not), and not just about my sexuality.
Oh, and X: You claim you always know when people are gay. Straight people normally don't have this wonderful ability. It's commonly called "gay-dar." Congrats on the ability - I have it too, sweetie!
Another note: People always claim they can "tell" when people are gay. Well, OF COURSE you can "tell" with the obvious people! That's because it's obvious! But with the less-obvious people, how would you ever know? You would just assume they were straight. Which is what people do with me, and my girlfriend, and the other less-obvious gays that I have heard from.
I assume you've never been to a gay bar. I'm always surprised by the variety of people in there - you get the flamboyant men, older gentleman that are my grandparents' age, guys that look like frat boys, jock guys, "butch" women, and "feminine" women. About half of the people in there you'd never guess were gay. Unless, of course, you have excellent gaydar. Better than mine, even!

KarenG:
I wouldn't say that to anyone at the library. I'm way too shy.
Oh, and thanks for your support. But if this was a "choice", I would have opted out a long time ago.
