You're right, I think you CAN tell with most gay people. I have always considered myself somewhat of an exception - being "not butch" or whatever.
The strange thing is, though: *I* can usually tell who is gay and who is not. I have a good sense of it. Most straight people I know can't do this. I'm not really sure why, but they can't. They're always impressed that I can tell.
So I find it strange that you can "tell" as well. I'm not insinuating that you are gay, it's just not the norm in my experiences. People are generally clueless about that kind of thing (again, in my experiences).
