03/08/00: Karen, Psu, TCP...

Psu: I think whoever said that the burly gay guys bother straight guys more than the effete ones, is dead on. And whoever said it was because it's more threatening to our own egos is also dead on. Whether this fact and the attitudes it reflects are a good thing or not, I don't know. But it's true. I find Rammstein much more disturbing than, say... Big Gay Al from Southpark.

Karen: What?? People hate lesbians? Not in my experience! Now admittedly I am a horny mid-20's guy and I hang out with a similiar crowd, but no guy I've ever met dislikes lesbians. We're all sort of vaguely bummed that we can't get them in bed. But hate them? No way! You see, because of pornography, there's an eroticized aspect about lesbians for guys. And so no matter how much we know it's wrong, and that we'll never get any from them, they turn us on. Maybe other people have noticed different, but that's the pattern I've seen...

That's for guys. For women, I can see it being different. After all, a lesbian doesn't threaten a guy, sexually speaking. But a lesbian does threaten a straight woman's sexuality. So I can maybe see some women having a subconscious "fear sublimated into hate" reaction to them.

TCP: I've been on the other side - I've occasionaly been mistaken for a gay guy. And it's really fucking pisses me off! I'm pretty hard to piss off, but that's one button of mine that people can really push and it works. So anyway, "I feel your pain."

A joking suggestion: The next time some lesbian insists you must be a straight chick, give her a long, lingering kiss.

(Now, this next part I say only jokingly, please don't flame me (too hard) for being an asshole.) And, um, videotape it and send me a copy of the tape. ;]

Hehehee. Ehehhee! Lesbians!! Yeah, cool!! HehHEhehEHEHe!

<self-smack!>

Sorry, my inner Beavis got the best of me for a second there. ;]
