Steve Austin had neck surgery to removes some bone spurs that were pressing on his spine.
Austin himself said that it (the injury) occurred when Owen Hart (R.I.P.) gave him a vicious piledriver about two years ago. Normally, the head of the person being piledriven ain't supposed to evne touch the mat - it's how the move is done without breaking necks. BUT, this particular piledriver had Austin's head clearly slam into the mat and fused two vertebrate.
And don't give me some "Homeboy - don't you know it's fake?" crap. While the moves ARE staged, some of them have potential for disaster. Ask Darren "I'm paralyzed from my neck down" Drozdov about how "real" D-Lo Brown's running-powerslam was.
But X-man is right about Austin's 6month recovery time, assuming all goes well.
Oh Hell Yeah.
