Could it not be referred beyond a shadow of a doubt that Sirens are a metaphor for men unable to keep their head on straight when presented with a sexually steaming, seemingly "willing" young woman?
Not that anyone would ever want to acknowledge such a logical relation between fiction and reality, but who knows.
