Although I read all of Cranky's reviews and most of the other postings, I almost never feel the need to put my two cents in (I'm a ROM: read only minority). But this gleeful `first posting' euphoria obviously drains certain people of their capacity for inteligent comment while allowing their keyboard-working ability to remain intact. Quite annoying. So, please lets have some input from the ones I've come to know and look forward to reading, including but by no means limited to those up in the title of my posting. These people and other like them are able to comment on the movie in question as well as give others an insight into where their perspective originates, film likes / dislikes and well as a bit of their backgrounds. These are the kinds of people whose comments I find most informing and entertaining.
I haven't seen the film yet (it opens today in the NYC metro area), but at $9 a pop now I have to choose my current film picks carefully. I did suspect the flick is pretty bad as the commercials have focused on "from the director who brought you....." and "still one of the most important filmmakers of or time". Without discounting Lumets past efforts, how's about telling us about THIS film in the ads?
